MADEC is proud to announce its participation in the national Play for Purpose charity raffle, giving supporters the chance to win incredible prizes while helping people with disabilities, young people, and those experiencing disadvantage across Mackay and the Whitsundays.
The latest raffle opens on Thursday, 18 September 2025 at 8:30 pm AEST and closes on Thursday, 11 December 2025 at 8:00 pm AEST.
The first prize pack is valued at $300,000 and includes a Toyota Prado Kakadu (valued at $111,910.74) and $188,089.26 worth of gold bullion. Winners will be drawn on Monday, 15 December 2025.
Supporters who purchase tickets before Wednesday, 8 October 2025 (11.59 pm AEST) will also go into the Early Bird Bonus Draw for the chance to win a $10,000 Flight Centre voucher. The winner will be drawn on Thursday, 9 October 2025.
MADEC Chairperson Patrick Wilsmore said the initiative was a meaningful way for supporters to contribute while enjoying the excitement of the raffle.
“By purchasing a ticket, supporters are not only in the running to win life-changing prizes, they’re also helping us deliver meaningful experiences for the people we support — young people and people with disability who deserve opportunities to thrive. Every ticket purchased has a social purpose and impact, enabling us to create lasting change in the lives of those who need it most,” Mr Wilsmore said.
“For over 50 years, MADEC has been opening doors to opportunities that build confidence, connection, and belonging. Every ticket purchased helps us continue this important work.”
Funds raised through Play for Purpose go directly to participating charities such as MADEC. A minimum of 50 percent of every ticket purchased supports the nominated charity, while the remaining 50 percent helps fund prizes and cover raffle operations. Play For Purpose is operated by the 50-50 Foundation, an ACNC-registered charity that has run hundreds of raffles and raised millions for good causes since 2013.
MADEC has been serving the Mackay and Whitsunday communities for more than five decades, providing vital support to people with disabilities, young people, and others experiencing disadvantage. Many of those MADEC assists face financial hardship, with government assistance only covering the basics. Funds raised through the raffle will help deliver activities, trips, and connections that bring joy, confidence, and belonging to people who need it most.
