Every act of kindness counts, no matter how big or small. Whether through one-time donations, regular contributions or corporate partnerships, your support enables us to continue our vital work.
We are grateful for the unwavering support of our donors. Thanks to you, we’ve been able to support hundreds of individuals with disabilities and young people in our region, empowering them to live their best lives.
When you donate to MADEC, you are directly contributing to the well-being of youth and individuals with disabilities in Mackay and the Whitsundays. As a registered charity with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status, your donation is tax-deductible. Gifts of $2 or more can be claimed, making it even easier to support those who need it most.
Together, we can continue building a stronger, more inclusive community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

In the past 50 years, our organisation has received several generous donations allowing us to build essential community infrastructure such as the John E. Smith Respite Home.
Looking forward to 2023 and beyond, MADEC is committed to delivering another affordable and accessible housing project for our region. This project will encompass approx. 20 dwellings over the next 5 years. This vital project will provide affordable and accessible long-term housing options for those most in need.
We are so proud to be celebrating our milestone 50 years with the launch of such an integral project for the community. We invite you to share in our celebrations and contribute in any way you can.
Giving feels good. Studies have found when people give to charities, it activates regions of the brain associated with pleasure, social connection, and trust, creating a “warm glow” effect. Giving makes you and those around you feel happier.
We have built housing projects like the John E Smith Respite Home, as well as the David and Irie Dalrymple Home, and supported hundreds of young people and persons with a disability to their live their very best lives.
